The Gardner Museum's Community Creations Exhibition features Gardner-inspired artwork by local students. This year, Community Creations will take place in its new home in the Education Studio.

Student artists are part of the Community Partnership Program, a collaboration in the Gardner Museum's tradition of community engagement and support for emerging artists. This year's student projects include:

• From Fenway High School students, two- and three-dimensional paintings on panel board, inspired by their discussion of Artist-in-Residence Victoria Morton's (TAPESTRY) RADIO ON in the Special Exhibition gallery

• An elaborate royal throne designed by students at Hawthorne Youth and Community Center, who focused on chairs in the Museum's collection and people who once sat in them

• An accordion book of images, symbols and patterns in the collection by students from the Peace Drum Project

• From YouthBuild-Designery, a group of small scale 3-D models of new gallery spaces in the Museum to exhibit collection works

• Nature-inspired plaster relief panels by Gardner Museum Associates and Teens and Behind-the-Scenes, created in collaboration with Artist-in-Residence Dan Harvey.

Projects by students from Dorchester Alternative School and Mother Caroline Academy in Dorchester will also be on view. Community Creations is the annual culmination of students learning, discussing, and creating art at the Gardner Museum.
