On May 1, 2010, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum officially kicked off the public phase of its Campaign for the Gardner with a goal of raising the final $45 million in order to complete the total $180 million initiative.

Support the Campaign for the Gardner

The Campaign for the Gardner enters its final phase, attracting new gifts and support. Structured to both support the construction of the new Renzo Piano-designed wing and to raise funds for programs and additional endowment, the campaign stands at 87% complete as of December 2012, with just over $24 million left to raise against a total goal of $180 million. Work is underway to finish fundraising for the project by early 2014.

Our sincerest thanks to the many donors who have been so generous and committed to ushering in a new phase of growth for the museum. All gifts, of every size, help to realize a vision for the future for the Gardner--a vision that secures the preservation of an outstanding collection while also presenting vibrant and contemporary programming for a growing and diverse audience.
