Community Creations is an annual student
exhibition at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum that celebrates
the collaboration between the Museum and six community organizations
in the Boston area: Alternative School at Little House; Boston
Arts Academy; Hawthorne Youth and Community Center; Mission
Safe Program; Paige Academy; and Mother Caroline Academy.
Students from these organizations participated in Community
Partnerships, a year-long multi-visit education program at
the Gardner Museum for local teens and younger children. Inspired
by the Gardner Museum and its collection, the students created
two- and three- dimensional works of art for this exhibition.
Their installations in the Museum's Special Exhibition Gallery
and Monks Garden include: decorative chairs, an installation
made out of grass, designer candlesticks, a clay dragon sculpture,
self-portrait paintings and a ceramic tile installation.
